Unique evangelism opportunities!!Exciting, once in a lifetime events!Welcome to our blog! As you can see, due to a short seminary break, we have been very busy in Mexico, busy at a Super Bowl outreach, and busy with Daniel’s sermon that he preached for seminary! If this is your first blog, our names are Daniel and Sarah Bruce! We are missionaries in training to Papua New Guinea, and we are focused on doing evangelism while we still have the time! The above pics show a glimpse of the amazing, short trip we took to Mexico to see some Christian friends and do some evangelism! We were able to hand out plenty of tracts on the beach, and we left behind a little Hispanic cactus we made as a craft at the library! The reason we did it is because (if you can’t see it in the photos) it has Gospel information on it! Then, we headed to a Super Bowl outreach with some good friends from the ministry Sports Fan Outreach International! It was SO encouraging! We also were able to spend some time with some amazing believers we met at the Ambassadors’ Academy (see previous blog for August 2022), which was an amazing bonus! For more info of Sports Fan Outreach: Sports Fan Outreach website: www.sfoi.org/ I included some pictures of some of the tracts we used, kids millions for our daughter, normal millions for us, and another great tract the guys at Sports Fan Outreach were using. Take the time to read the Gospel message on the backs of the millions! They are so encouraging and convicting! BUT - within those pictures I included something that doesn’t belong… …the “personality test” is actually a universalistic Scientology trap! What I mean by that is, it’s a pamphlet from a group that believes all religions are equally valid, which makes them a cult. Pray that the truth of the Gospel prevails over the lies from the world! (See the link below to get your own millions! Living Waters link: livingwaters.com/) ALSO, Daniel just preached an AMAZING sermon for seminary…on a biblical prophecy in Isaiah! It’s a must listen! Here’s the audio: 2 Perspectives to Prophetic Fulfillment - Daniel Bruce Audio: youtu.be/PkZ5Wp9QiS0 Missionary endeavor book…For each picture I have on missions, I want to share a bit of another book I’ve been working on, but probably won’t publish until a much later date. Since we are missionaries in training, it’s important for us to include topics about missions in our blog! So, here’s something I have been working on! Here’s from the beginning on the story: She screamed with terror at the sight of the Biggest Man. Peering over the edge, trying to see what she wasn’t sure she wanted to, she suddenly flinched back in fear that someone might have heard her cries. Can you find Kirk Cameron?Remember Growing Pains? If not, that’s okay, just note that Christians should be following examples like Kirk Cameron and Ray Comfort, who live in the midst of Hollywood ridiculousness, yet speak against it with biblical wisdom. Though I wouldn’t recommend any “television families”, I would recommend one movie, called “The Timer Changer”. You can actually watch it here through your library for free: Hoopla Library Digital Loans: www.hoopladigital.com/title/12038312 In this movie, the main character is a seminary professor in the 1800’s. Though a crazy series of events, he ends up being transported over one hundred years in the future - and he can’t believe the ungodliness of the world. One specific noteworthy scene includes the main character rushing out of a movie theatre in shock and horror, because the man on the screen blasphemed God’s Name. No Christians should be supporting any movie with this kind of language, but it’s the norm today. I’m sure you would be massively offended if a movie started railing against a significant other of yours…and that person could question your love for them if you didn’t care. How much more offended should our attitude be with those who speak against the Lord? Growing…not a pain. :)Missions continued…She straightened her green, but frayed and dirty grass skirt, and wondered if she could figure out who had just been killed…and why. Can you figure out these fancy, scientific formulas? Here’s some clues: Genesis 1:1 is infinitely important; J+O+H+N = 3:16 means John 3:16; Luke 19:10 refers to Jesus coming to seek and save the lost… …these are meant to be fun, but I included them as a teaser of the kind of homeschooling I can’t wait to start! Fun at the park!Park evangelism is one of our favorite things to do. If you take your little ones to the park sometime, you should try it! All you need is prayer, a Gospel tract, and some simple biblical truths down that I know you already know. Just offer someone a Gospel tract, and ask them what they think happens after they die. From there you can get into the Law (lying, stealing, etc.), and then explain the death and resurrection of Christ. Comment below if you have questions! Missions book…The rainy season was just coming to an end, and the sun was coming out a bit, but the damp air still hit her, making her shake from coldness and the shock of what had just happened. The will to live…We all have a will to live, so that’s why I included this Gospel tract here. Because everyone has a will to live, it’s important to know whether you’re right with God. If you’re right with God, you know that death is better than life (Philippians 1:21), but you’ll continue on this earth because of the work that needs to be done. But if you’re not right with God, or you’re not sure, that needs to be worked out immediately, because you should rightly be afraid of death. That’s why we share the Gospel! Our favorite evangelism spot, and library fun!College campus evangelism is definitely our favorite ministry. It’s been such a blessing to talk with Hindus who have never heard the Gospel before, with Catholics who are very serious about keeping in touch, and with Muslims who are open to hearing about who Jesus is. Taliah has attracted many different people to us as well, so that has been a blessing. Though she’s pretty active, she also enjoys sitting back and reading and/or coloring, which is so good for future learning! My favorite thing ever is watching Daniel and Taliah do things together…especially evangelism. :) Now, back to missions… Missions…She looked over the mountains of her isolated tribe in Papua New Guinea, in hopes that she would see something new, something she had never seen before. But it was vast, and empty…and she was alone. No time for games! Can you spot the tract? With our busy schedules of seminary and college, it would be hard to find time for games, even if we wanted to play them (which we probably don’t unless it’s a productive use of time). Daniel has six classes this semester for seminary, and I have seven for college. This semester, Daniel has to take both Hebrew and Greek at the same time again, and we actually both have a biblical counseling class! And soon…Taliah will start class! Having a blast! Here Taliah is admiring some water…and pretending to go to sleep at the store. Some ask how we manage classes and parenting at the same time. With Taliah, it’s not that difficult. She’s very independent, so I just have to make sure that I schedule time with her into my day, because she doesn’t demand that much of my time. I can’t wait to include her more and more as she grows! Daniel’s schedule is definitely more intense, and it can be a challenge, but he’s doing so well! Now, to missions… More on missions…Trying to focus on the problem at hand without daydreaming, she slowly moved away from the scene of the kill, hoping no one had seen her. Find the tract!Instead of playing games, this semester Daniel has: Hebrew Greek Biblical Counseling Understanding Charismatic Theology Preaching Pastoral Leadership His favorite is biblical counseling. This semester, I have: Philosophy Educational Psychology Biblical Counseling Jewish History Field Ministry Doctrine of the Church Oral Transmission and Memorization of the Bible My favorite BY FAR is Oral Transmission. I might need an entire blog in the future to explain how much I love it… Evangelism Analogy!I love when practical, everyday things can display Gospel truths. Isn’t it so true that, no matter how much good we do, our good will never outweigh our bad? This is so helpful to remember when sharing the Gospel, because it reminds us why Christianity is separate from all man-made religions. God doesn’t see good works and look down, impressed with us. Isaiah 64:6 reminds us that our “righteous” deeds are like filthy rags in God’s eyes. But that’s why the Gospel is so amazing! Missions book teaser ending…This was all new to her. She was a young lady who had grown up in the tribe her entire life, never leaving the mountain, but she was sheltered from all the tribal bloodshed until recently. A preview of my Oral Transmission class…If you read Psalm 119, you will be struck on how highly the Psalmist values God’s law. Writing Scripture on our heart (memorizing Scripture) is a task that Christians often neglect, but it’s a clear command. My class on Oral Transmission of the Bible has encouraged me to get out of complacently with Bible memory, and to seriously memorize God’s Word. My professor has memorized 20+ books of the Bible; he has two Master’s degrees from Jerusalem, and he’s been incredibly helpful in my spiritual life so far. I can’t wait to share more in future blogs, and encourage you like he has encouraged me! Even if you have no idea what “oral transmission is”, I guarantee that this class would greatly benefit you. Learning so much!Every time we go somewhere we haven’t been in a few weeks, I feel like Taliah does something new every time! It’s such an encouragement to watch her grow. Whether she’s making play food, driving a play bus, or making art with little pegs, it’s so exciting to watch what she can do! Praising God for all He has done through her! And that’s how I’ll end! :) If you’re interested in supporting our work, any donations help us with our current studies.
