ICR and Reformation Day!An incredible conference!I could go on and on about how great this local conference was, but your time is valuable, so I’ll give just a few quick highlights! The biggest highlight was getting to see my professor—The Bible Memory Man (Professor Tom Meyer)—at the conference! I’ve written a blog on one of his Bible memory classes before, and I have to say that getting to see him in person was absolutely incredible (more on Bible memory below). In addition to that, the conference was very full, from astronauts to marine life topics to interesting science experiments, it was a very informative time. Having our daughters with us for the conference honestly made it so much more fun! I was excited to see my 2 year old engaged in so many adult topics! Kyle Mann from Babylon Bee was also there! He shared that guns are really, really scary (this was sarcasm) as well as other funny jokes and comments. WAIT—do you know what’s really, really, really scary?!?!? It’s coming up!! Reformation Day (aka Halloween or National Evangelism Day) without Gospel tracts is really, really, really scary! Don’t do it! Get tracts today!! Living Waters Gospel tracts: livingwaters.com/ (I’m not paid for this…and I realize I’m not that funny…but I couldn’t put out a blog in October without a plug for Halloween evangelism and I didn’t know where else to put it.) Anyway… If you want to hear more about Creation science (that’s what the conference was about), here’s a link… ICR website: www.icr.org/ Missions - us currentlyMissions for us is kind of like this puzzle with the missing piece! Though we hope and pray to be sent out to be missionaries to Papua New Guinea, when is up in the air. We are left doing all we know to do to get there, knowing the urgency that is at hand, but also knowing that training is necessary. One aspect of training that we believe should be important is focusing on memorizing God’s Word. Take a look at the books above for incredible Bible resources (written by the college professor I mentioned above) so you can redeem the time right now! Missions - around the worldThe Canns, missionaries from our church, went back to Papua New Guinea recently. Prayers for them appreciated, as well as for other families that are getting everything established for missionary support in a coastal town called Madang. When you look at this map, consider the fact that over half of the world’s languages don’t have Scripture in their language. About 7,000 people groups have no written knowledge of their sin against God through their breaking of His Law. But not only that—they have a conscience that tells them right from wrong, lying from truth, hating from loving others, but they have no way of repentance without the knowledge of Jesus Christ. The Gospel isn’t proclaimed in many, many areas on this map. They have no knowledge of the death and resurrection of Christ. Who will go and tell them? Please seriously consider this as you read on. Taliah!Taliah is growing so fast! From playing at the park and looking for evangelism opportunities, to fun learning at the library, to creative learning at home—she’s doing so well! Though things are busy, I love making one-on-one time with her to teach her throughout the day. She picks up on things fast, and it’s so encouraging! Taliah also loves her little sister… Moriah!Moriah Torah is growing like crazy! It’s so fun to watch her sister give her hugs! She’s learning so many new things every day, and I’m so excited to be able to take her with me to go share the Gospel! I can’t tell you how much of a joy it is to be able to have a little buddy to hold while going out to do evangelism…or going out to do anything! Before I know it she’ll be starting studies at home… …but it won’t be as tough as Daniel’s studies… Seminary highlightsDaniel survived midterms! Yay! A current seminary highlight is Daniel’s Pastoral Leadership class. It generates good discussion, and he said it’s his favorite class right now! At least half of his six classes are in English…🙃 My collegeAlong with two other classes, public speaking has been a notable class for me this semester. With the class requirement to give various speeches in front of various people—it has been a little challenging! It’s hard to find appropriate, women audiences in the life season I’m in! But, I do love public speaking, and I hope that God was glorified through my words (and I pray I was humbled through my inability to give the speeches more professionally). I’m thankful for the opportunity, and I’m also thankful that I’ll be done with classes soon so I can focus more on homeschooling! And speaking of homeschooling…here’s a great resource for you: Ministry Highlight: Piercing Word!Besides getting to see my professor in person, getting to see this group—Piercing Word—was definitely the biggest highlight of the conference! This group memorizes huge chunks of Scripture and dramatically recites it like a play before the audience. It’s absolutely incredible…so moving that it should drive all who hear it to continue (or start) seriously memorizing God’s Word! Here’s their link: piercingword.org/ Please consider this. As I shared above, many don’t even have Scripture in their language. Those with the privilege of having God’s Word in their language should work to have it written in their hearts. You can look back the the blog archives from March of this year for a previous blog I’ve done on Bible memory if you’re more interested in this topic! Prayer RequestsTime management is always helpful to have prayer for, because time is so precious, and there is lots to do! Papua New Guinea is still the prayer for missions… Increased people doing evangelism with us, doing so in a way that honors God, and bears fruit is appreciated as well! Wise parenting is also always ideal! Thanks for the prayers! Time is running out! Feel free to post evangelism ideas/comments/questions below!
