Meet the newest little Bruce!!The newest evangelist on ASU…Meet our new daughter!! She’s the “little” surprise I mentioned in the previous blog! :) Though it definitely look much longer than expected for me to recover, things are getting better, and the excitement of hosting campus ministry at ASU (Arizona State University) and going out to share the Gospel is now a reality again… …and it’s even better now that I have a new little friend with me every step of the way! <3 I can’t think of a more ideal scenario than being able to go out and share God’s truth—the reality of personal sin (lying, misusing God’s Name, etc.) and the hope of the death and resurrection of Christ—with individuals on a college campus alongside my best friend (Daniel), my encouraging, hilarious oldest, and my new, cuddly girl! I was SO encouraged that I actually felt like I had better conversations SITTING DOWN than walking around campus! Sooo thankful to God for the incredible opportunity! Missions - us currentlyNot so fast? It’s hard for me to not feel angry at things like this. Yes, some people can work too hard and neglect rest. We need rest—we aren’t God. BUT - there is SUCH an urgency to the Gospel! So, no, we will not slow down. As long as people are running towards a cliff to their destruction, As long as individuals are dying and going to Hell without even having a chance to hear one word of Scripture in their language, As long as there are children that remain untaught, ignorant of life-giving, biblical principles that will keep them from destruction, We—as a family—are not going to slow down. Missions - around the worldCan you even fathom that 6,000 people groups are yet to hear the Gospel? Yes, reaching them requires a life-long commitment that is extremely taxing and difficult—but isn’t the call to Christianity a call to deny yourself? Our goal is to be missionaries to the unreached people of Papua New Guinea because there is a way to reach people, it just hasn’t been done yet. Some groups in PNG have written extensive letters begging for the Gospel because they see what’s happened in other villages around them and they want to understand. What could be more worth it than giving up the vain “treasures” of a simple, Westernized life for the cause of God’s glory going to where it has never gone before? Taliah!Taliah is so incredible! She is such a big help, and she’s such a joy to be around. I love how she’s been handling everything, and how much she’s maturing in the process! It’s so encouraging to think about how soon it really will be until I’m able to have two little girls in conversation, and until then I’m so thankful for my beginning conversations with Taliah! So… Moriah Torah! This is our new daughter: Moriah Torah! As you can see, her sister Taliah loves her a lot! She’s been a huge joy and an easier baby than we remember the first time. I’m so thankful that she’s growing healthy and strong! Any challenges are worth knowing that she’s still thriving! And speaking of challenges… Seminary highlightsCan you read this? Daniel can… …because he has TWO Hebrew classes this semester! (In case you’re wondering, it means love.) A highlight of seminary would probably be his preaching class. He just preached a great sermon in the class, so now he gets to have a little break to listen to others preach as he prepares for another sermon he will preach outside of class! My college!I’m getting very close to the end! This semester I have 3 classes in order to finish up my degree. One is on “field ministry”, which is a simple class with the goal of holding you accountable to serving God through your church in a local ministry. Another is on public speaking, which includes giving speeches and learning about how to properly address a crowd. The last one I have is on Creation science, which covers plenty of material on how God created the earth, along with different cultural perspectives on the origins of the universe. It’s been a very informative class so far! Ministry Highlight - The Living Waters Podcast! What can help me get my focus in the right place when Daniel’s in seminary and I want to listen to something edifying? The Living Waters Podcast! Though we talk about Living Waters a lot, I wanted to specifically mention their podcast because I honestly think it should get way more attention. It’s uplifting, convicting, helpful, and exactly what God uses in the moment to spur me on in the truths of God’s Word! This artwork of the podcast can be found here: The Living Waters Artwork link: assets.livingwaters.com/images/carticature-of-lw-podcast-hosts.jpg The Living Waters Podcast: livingwaters.com/podcast/ And here are some of our recent favorites: Living Waters Masculinity Episode: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-living-waters-podcast/id1587017158?i=1000626315655 Living Waters Femininity Episode: Prayer RequestsThese are definitely are biggest requests in this season! Balance is always helpful as a consistent prayer request. With all the excitement/hardships of new beginnings, we want to remain faithful and focused on the right things. Putting God first as a priority! Because we never know when we will be out of time… The urgency of the task. The clock is ticking! I would strongly encourage you to think about missions and evangelism and consider how God could use you!
